Full Description

A trial trenching evaluation was carried out by MAS in January 2015 ahead of proposed development (Phase 1). A total of 41 trenches were excavated, but no features or artefacts of archaeological significance were recorded. Large numbers of field drains demonstrate improvement of the land from the late 18th/early 19th century onwards; prior to this time the land appears to have been largely boggy, poor ground.
