Full Description
Site of a farmstead, dating from the mid19th century and depicted on the OS 2nd edition and later maps. On the 2nd edition it comprised an L-plan range with attached horsemill, with rectangular buildings to the north, south and southeast, and a house with attached enclosure to the south. A standing building survey was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in January 2013 ahead of proposed demolition. The buildings date from the 1860s, the plot sold by the Banchory Devenick Estate in 1863. The buildings had been extensively damaged by fire in the 1960s and subsequently much rebuilt. The farmhouse was double fronted of two and a half storeys, constructed of large, mostly grey granite blocks. The site is now occupied by housing. See also NJ90SW1027.
