Full Description

A trial trenching evaluation was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in January 2012 ahead of proposed development. A total of 27 trenches (7 percent of the area) were excavated. These uncovered stone drains and evidence for post medieval field clearance, and a ceramic jar, all of probable 19th or 20th century origin. No other archaeological features or artefacts were identified. As part of the work photographic recording of the consumption dyke (NJ90SW0351) on the southern boundary of the site was also undertaken.
