Full Description

A trial trenching evaluation and standing building recording were carried out by Cameron Archaeology in June 2010 ahead of construction of a care home. Seven trenches were excavated, uncovering a number of ceramic field drains, but no artefacts or features of archaeological significance were identified. The north boundary wall and the north end of the west boundary wall were recorded, prior to demolition as part of the development. The north wall was of granite fieldstones capped with a granite pediment. The west wall survived as a foundation course of stones with granite fieldstones roughly placed on top.
