Full Description
Farmstead, still in use. The OS 1st edition map shows a U-shaped steading open to the north, with two small conjoined enclosures to the west. To the south is an L-plan building with attached enclosure. East of this building is a mill pond and sluice, fed by a mill lade running from the south. North of the pond is what appears to be a small unroofed building. By the time of the OS 2nd edition map this structure had been removed, as had the south wing of the steading leaving two separate rectangular buildings. Current OS maps indicate further alterations and additions to the buildings whilst the pond, and much of the lade, has been infilled. A farmstead is also shown here on an estate map of 1761.
