Full Description

A watching brief was carried out by Aberdeen City Council Archaeological Unit in August 2005 on three trial pits. No features were observed but a number of 19th and early 20th century artefacts were recovered including ceramics, glass, leather, metal and a sherd of a Seaton Pottery bowl. A watching brief by MAS in May 2006 during topsoil stripping of the site recorded an area of brick waste in the north east corner which may have been from the documented brickfield to the north (see NJ90NW0830). Most of the site had been used for dumping of domestic refuse in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
