Full Description

A watching brief was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in November 2011-May 2012 during trenching for the City Centre Heating Phase 1 (see also NJ90NE0324). Between Mealmarket Street and Queen Street monitoring covered all trenching apart from areas between Marischal College and Queen Street which were known to have been previously disturbed. Features recorded comprised remains of 19th century wall foundations were recorded in Queen Street, and a previous cobbled street surface in West North Street.
