A watching brief was carried out by Aberdeen City Council Archaeological Unit between August 2009 and November 2010 on groundworks for resurfacing works across 10 streets associated with the Green Townscape Heritage Initiative. Excavations across the length and width of Carmelite Street revealed no archaeological features.
