Full Description
Geophysical survey and trial trenching evaluation was carried out by Headland Archaeology in advance of the planned approach road and bridge footings for the Third Don Crossing. Geophysical survey in September 2012 recorded only a few areas of potential archaeological interest. Twenty-nine trenches and test pits were excavated in September 2013, although those on the south side of the river could not be fully excavated due to deep deposits of unstable made ground. A total of eleven features were recorded, all of post medieval date - see NJ91SW0399, NJ90NW1271, NJ90NW1272.
