Full Description

Site of a 19th-20th century tenement building and industrial premises recorded by CFA in January 2014. Following demolition, a trial trenching evaluation was carried out by CFA in January - October 2014 ahead of proposed development. The area is thought to have been marshland associated with a former loch during the 17th century before being drained in the 18th century, and extensively developed in the 19th and 20th centuries. This appears to have involved heavy levelling and landscaping, and no features or artefacts of archaeological significance were recorded.
