Full Description

A watching brief was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in March 2011 during excavation of trenches for laying district heating pipes between Beechview Court and Balgownie Court. The trenching uncovered deposits from the Brick and Tile Works (uncovered during archaeological investigation prior to the construction of Seaton Primary School in 2009 - see NJ90NW1190). A dump of brick and tile were recorded (and left in situ) in the trench east of Seaton School. North of the school two sections of trench contained several pits and dumps of brick and tile waste, which were sampled.
