Full Description
House depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps, named Loch-head House on the 1st edition. Probably built in the mid 19th century. Park House was used during World War II to provide shelter for people whose homes had been bombed. Extensions were added in the 1960s. Standing building survey was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in July 2010. Park House is a substantial 2-storey building with harled walls, a slated pitched roof and double height bay window on the ground and first floors facing onto Westburn Road. Windows and doors have plain granite quoins, and the front door has a small unsupported portico over the front door. The gable ends to the original house had similar windows to the facades and most of the walls were harled. Internally the house is of traditional type with two large reception rooms at the front of the ground floor and two smaller family rooms at the rear. No original fireplaces were present.
