Full Description

Two small trial trenches were excavated through the floor of the standing building by Aberdeen City Council Archaeological Unit in 1981 during conversion works. They revealed that the existing ground level of the building was semi-cellared and cut into natural subsoil and that any occupation layers had been destroyed. Observation of the small yard at the rear of the property, the surface of which was 0.50m above the ground, revealed no undisturbed levels.
