Full Description

Watching brief carried out in December 2002 and early January 2003, by Aberdeen City Council Archaeological Unit during the excavation of wall foundation trenches for this development. A small number of features and layers of archaeological interest were recorded including a number of walls probably associated with the Ropeworks (NJ90NE0312) depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. Burials have been recorded in the area (see NJ90NE0123) but no human skeletal remains were found and no finds or features pre-dating the 19th century were recorded.
