Full Description
A watching brief was maintained by Murray Archaeological Services during the installation of a new wastewater treatment works at the west end of the village of Pennan in 2004. Excavation revealed a small rectangular building aligned north-south, which has been interpreted as an ice-house dating to the 19th century. No other archaeological features or artefacts were encountered. Site visit in 2022 as part of the SCAPE Coastal Zone Assessment Survey noted that no remains of the ice house were visible.
