Full Description
Site of a castle. Discoloured earth has been ploughed up in an area of approximately a quarter of an acre in the place where it stood but no buildings can be seen. The name Hattonslap was probably derived from Ha' or halltown. It may have been a motte or homestead moat. There is a faint wide trace of part of a rectangular shape in the recorded area which may be part of the moat.
