Full Description
Site of a building depicted on the OS 2nd edition map, set against the corner boundary of the field. The 1st edition map shows what may be a smaller building set into this corner. The site lies within the Haddo House designed landscape (MAB22644). An excavation in 2017 found what is likely to be a cobbled floor layer beneath the topsoil of a trench measuring 1.9 m by 2.9 m. The layer was characterised by sub-rounded and sub-angular stones ranging in size from 0.1 m to 0.35 m, with a discrete southeastern edge to the feature. Likely modern finds of nails and hinges were recorded throughout the topsoil and feature layers.
