Full Description
Site of an almshouse founded by Wm Forbes in the 16th century as a hospital for four poor men. Now no trace of the original Bede house which became ruinous by 1735, with the 18th century cottage replacing it (NJ83SE0106). A stone with Latin inscription commemorating Forbes lies immediately east of building.
