Full Description
Site of remains of stone clearance heaps, previously recorded during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). A small area of cleared land was marked by the presence of rather informal stone clearance heaps, to the northeast of hut circle NJ83NE0035. A desk based assessment carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry and subsequent field observation noted the site (S43) was no longer present having been removed by quarry operations outwith the proposed development area.
