Full Description
Site of stone clearance heaps, or the remains of wind-blown trees, previously recorded during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). A desk based assessment carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry and subsequent field observation noted the site (S44) was no longer present having been removed by quarry operations outwith the proposed development area.
