Full Description
A trial trenching evaluation was carried out by CFA in 2005 along the proposed route of a new by-pass road round the north of Oldmeldrum. A total of 33 trenches were excavated, but the majority uncovered no archaeological remains. Three trenches (10, 11 and 17) revealed the remains of three prehistoric ring-ditch houses. Subsequent excavation and watching briefs recorded ring-ditch houses and pits, dated to the late Bronze Age to Iron Age periods (NJ82NW0105)
