Full Description
An east-west ditch recorded in trial trenching by Headland Archaeology in 2013 (see NJ81SE0641) ahead of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route. It was 3.6m wide and 0.7m deep. Once piece of slag was recovered from an environmental sample. Further investigation was carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2014. A total of 2,684m sq was stripped of topsoil but no features of archaeological significance were recorded. The linear feature found during the trial trenching has been reinterpreted as a tree-throw or natural hollow. Three probable furrows wee identified, probably post-medieval in date.
