Full Description

A trial trenching evaluation, standing building survey and walkover surveys were carried out by Cameron Archaeology December 2011 to January 2012 ahead of proposed development. The trial trenching uncovered a section of the Aberdeenshire Canal (see NJ81SE0535) in Area S1b (c. NJ 89288 11046), but no other archaeological remains were recorded. Walkover survey was undertaken in five wooded areas, but no archaeological features were recorded. See for building recording of Moir House and walled garden.
