Full Description
A watching brief was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in January to February 2015 during the topsoil stripping for gas main replacement associated with the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route. Trial trenching by Headland Archaeology in 2013 had recorded two shallow linear features, one of which was concluded to be a furrow, centred circa NJ 86809 11322. The watching brief recorded one circular posthole structure (see NJ81SE0615). Rig and furrow was recorded over much of the east of the site. One medieval pottery fragment, the foot of a late medieval vessel, was found whilst cleaning a furrow to the east of Walton Farm. See also NJ81SE0647.
