Full Description

A trial trenching evaluation was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in December 2011, following demolition of the former BP offices, ahead of housing development. Trenches covering 5 percent of the area were targeted on the least disturbed areas on the periphery of the site. The route of the Aberdeenshire Canal is thought to run across the site, but no evidence was encountered in these trenches. No other features or artefacts of archaeological significance were uncovered.
