Full Description

Ditch recorded during trial trenching by Headland Archaeology in 2013 ahead of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (NJ81SE0076). It had steep sides and a flat base, running north-south along the crest of the slope. A single fragment of heavily rusted iron, most likely a nail, was recovered from the fill. Further excavation was carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2014. The only features recorded were post-medieval in date (furrows and field drainage) or natural in origin.
