Full Description
A geophysical survey was carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2012 ahead of the proposed Aberdeen Western Peripheral route. Possible archaeological anomalies were recorded including parallel cultivation markings at circa NJ88595 14757, circular features at circa NJ88677 14818, possible enclosures at circa NJ 88762 14887 and possible cultivation remains at circa NJ 89529 14900. A programme of trial trenching carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2013 recorded a number of archaeological features, see NJ81SE0078, NJ81SE0080, NJ81SE0082, NJ81SE0084, NJ81SE0086, NJ81SE0088, NJ81SE0090, NJ81SE0098, NJ81NE0154, NJ81NE0156. A watching brief in 2007 on test pitting along the AWPR route had recorded no archaeological features.
