Trial trenching carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2013 ahead of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route recorded archaeological features including pits. A watching brief during excavation of trial pits in 2008 along the line of the AWPR Southern Leg had recorded no archaeological features.
