Full Description
Site of former porter's lodge for the Blairs estate. Estate maps of 1830 and 1842 depict a single rectangular building on the east side of the track. The OS 1st and 2nd edition maps (25 inch) show the lodge with garden enclosure and a second, smaller, building to the south. An historic landscape survey of the Blairs estate by MAS in 2012 noted that nothing was now visible on the ground. The lodge was replaced by a new lodge (NJ80SE0106) circa 1900 when the entrance and estate road to the college was changed.
