Full Description
Site of short cists. Four short cists were found by workmen while excavating an embankment for sand in 1871. The first cist, oriented north-south, contained a skeleton lying on its right side, with fragments of a possible small food vessel in the corner of the cist, in front of skull. The floor of the cist was paved with pebbles from the river. One of the other three cists contained a skull, a femur, and a small beaker or food vessel (in AAUM).
Cinerary urns were found embedded in the sand near the cists. Also found was a small half-globular bronze vessel; though much decayed, enough of the vessel survived to record an original size of 63 mm in diameter by 25 mm in height.
