Full Description
Site of a farmstead depicted on the 1st edition OS map. It shows an L-plan range and smaller rectangular building arranged on a U-plan, with an attached horsemill on the west wing of the range. To the east are two rectangular buildings. The layout is essentially unchanged on the 1888 2nd edition map, although the north wing of the range has been extended, and the rectangular building to the north has been removed. one of the rectangular buildings had been removed. Part of the west wing of the steading range has since been removed. Building recording of the steading was carried out in 2013. The steading was built of traditional granite masonry, roofed with slate. Internal features indicate that the north wing was used as a cattle court, the shorted west wing for storage of machinery with a grain loft above. A building survey of the farmstead was carried out in 2014 prior to development.
