Full Description
A trial trenching evaluation was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in April 2021 ahead of proposed development. A total of 27 trenches were excavated, but the site has been heavily disturbed by agricultural activity with numerous stone and ceramic field drains and modern plough marks scored into the subsoil. In Trench 10 (in the central southern part of the site) an oval hollow and channel containing charcoal were uncovered and excavated, but no other features or artefacts of archaeological significance were recorded.
