A trial trenching evaluation (5 percent) was carried out by MAS in April 2007 in advance of demolition of Marchburn school for construction of a new school (Heathryburn) Traces of pre-improvement rig and furrow and a complex system of land drainage and improvement was recorded.

Full Description
A trial trenching evaluation (5 percent) was carried out by MAS in April 2007 in advance of demolition of Marchburn school for construction of a new school (Heathryburn) Traces of pre-improvement rig and furrow and a complex system of land drainage and improvement was recorded. Foundations of the original south dyke of the field was recorded in Trench 9, and the standing north and west dykes were also recorded.
