Full Description
A pit, linear ditches and features excavated by CFA in 2019 during a watching brief within the cable route corridor for the Moray East Offshore Wind Farm (NJ66SE0330). An elongated oval shaped steep sided pit, 1.6 m by 0.72 m by 0.13 m deep, contained nine pieces of undated animal bone consisting of teeth and mandible fragments. A linear feature aligned east-west with shallow concave sides and a bowl base, 1.3 m by 0.24 m deep, contained a possible prehistoric worked stone object. A linear ditch aligned east-west and a cobble culvert drain are most likely part of a field boundary ditch that was then used for drainage. A small fragment of modern glass was recorded from the ditch.
