Four linear ditch features and two pits excavated by CFA in 2019 during a watching brief within the cable route corridor for the Moray East Offshore Wind Farm (NJ66SE0330). Two large, shallow pits sub-circular and irregular in plan, measuring 1.9-1.2 m by 0.9-1.3 m by 0.15-0.18 m deep, with gently sloping sides. These pits may be natural features. One section of linear ditch was orientated north-south, measuring 350 m by 1.5 m by 0.35 m. Two shorter sections were orientated east-west measuring 4 m by 1.5 m by 0.25 m deep and 2.5 m by 0.9 m by 0.1 m deep. A fourth section was L-plan north-south and east-west measuring 5 m by 4 m by 0.1-0.3 m deep. These ditches were all part of a former boundary ditch, approximately aligning with the field boundaries depicted on the historic OS maps.
