Full Description

Site of a castle and manor of Auchry/ Little Auchry. It was originally the seat of Con of Auchry, a distinguished Catholic family. In 1721 it had been described as 'a ruinous old castle' which then belonged to the laird of Tolquhoun. Three years later, the 'house called Castle of Auchry' was one of the possessions of Duff of Braco who held it of the Earl of Erroll. The only part of this castle to survive is a heraldic stone built into the gable end of the farmhouse.
