Full Description

Site of manor of Balmaud/Ballmade, a property of the Burnetts in the 15th century. Balmaud was sold by them to the Gordons of Lesmoir in 1527. Belonging briefly to William Cumine of Auchry in 17th century and later to Sir Patrick Ogilvie of Boyne, it was sold by the latter to King's College in 1703 its manor-house being mentioned then. Latterly used as a farmhouse. it is believed that the existing farm occupies its site.

Sold in 1527 and again in 1703; farmstead re-designed c.1890.
