Full Description
Alleged site of a monastery. A Celtic monastery at Turriff has been taken as implied by the mention of Cormac, Abbot of Turbruaid, in one of the Notitiae in the Book of Deer. The Notitiae, however, are suspect and nothing is known of a monastery here. The site is supposed to have been the same as that of the old church of St Congan (NJ74NW0009) who is claimed as the founder.
