Full Description

Site of a manor and Barony which belonged to the Cheyne family in the 14th century. It passed from them to the Gordons, who held it during the second half of the 16th century. During the 17th century the barony of Crichie passed through various hands. However, by the last decade of that century it belonged to a family called Grant who apparently lost it by 1723 when 'Crighie House' was recorded as formerly belonging to them.
