Full Description

Site of Medieval village. It was noted that 'to the north of the Keith Hall policies is Ingliston, the tun or township of the English community who settled .... under the protection of the Anglo-Norman castle in the 12th Century'. No trace can be seen and nothing significant has been discovered during cultivation. The settlement, named as 'Englistoun', is depicted on General Roy's military survey of the mid-18th Century.
