Full Description
A programme of archaeological investigation was carried out by CFA Archaeology between March and June 2017 for installation of new underground cable between Blackdog and Stoneyhill Wood, Aberdeenshire and refurbishment of overhead line between Stoneyhill Wood and Kintore Substation, Aberdeenshire. Desk based assessment (2016) was followed by walkover survey along the route. This section of route comprised only overhead line works. One known site potentially potentially impacted by access was surveyed: NJ81SW0005. Monitoring of access to other towers did not identify any archaeological features.
