Full Description

An archaeological evaluation that was carried out in May 2017 by Murray Archaeological Services on the line of a proposed access road to the development at Kintore East (NJ81NW0222). A total of 25 trenches excavated, covering 7 percent of the site. Early Neolithic pottery was recovered from trench 13, resulting in an extended excavation at NJ 7955 1542. A small group of very truncated features were recorded on the site alongside the Early Neolithic pottery. The features and artefacts are probably the result of small, possibly domestic, Early Neolithic activity that predates Tuach Hill (NJ71NE0022) to the north.
