Full Description
Site of King's Seat, a hollow in the rock said to have been where the King sat when watching the battle between the Danes and the Scots at Kinellar. No trace in the area of this 'hollow', but there has been considerable quarrying. Nowadays the name 'King's Seat' is used locally to describe the standing stone at NJ 7956 1544 (NJ71NE0022).
