An isolated circular pit excavated by CFA in 2019, following on from identification of features during a watching brief within the cable route corridor for the Moray East Offshore Wind Farm (NJ66SE0330).

Full Description
An isolated circular pit excavated by CFA in 2019, following on from identification of features during a watching brief within the cable route corridor for the Moray East Offshore Wind Farm (NJ66SE0330). The pit measured 0.8 m by 0.75 m and 0.28 m deep, with moderately sloping sides, a concave base, and a fill containing charcoal and sub angular pebbles, most likely indicating use as a fire pit. No archaeological finds were recovered.
