Pits, deposits and stone spreads excavated by CFA in 2019 during a watching brief from 2018 to 2019 within the cable route corridor for the Moray East Offshore Wind Farm (NJ66SE0330). Four pits of irregular shapes varying from pear-shaped, circular, sub-circular and circular in plan, measuring 1.5 m x 1.4 m x 0.12 m deep, 1.1 m diameter x 0.33 m deep, 1.15 m long x 0.8 m wide x 0.3 m deep, and 1.4 m long x 1.35 m wide x 0.15 m deep. Fills were heavily burrowed with charcoal inclusions. Deposits included charcoal fragments and charred wood. Towards the north of the area a small deposit measuring 0.5 m in diameter and 0.05 m deep contained a fill with charcoal fragments, one thick concave neck sherd of prehistoric pottery and a piece of flint debitage. In the south of the area a spread of unshaped stones 6 m in length by 3 m in width and 0.2 m deep was cut by a field drain.
