Full Description
A watching brief was carried out in February 2011 by MAS over the excavation of the footprint of a new wind turbine, cable trench, and proposed second turbine. A buried dyke, well and old road were uncovered, all associated with a farmstead which lay to the East of Burnside of Whitefield. This earlier farmstead was named Westertown, and is depicted on the Forglen estate maps of 1804 and 1834, but not on the 1st edition OS map of 1868.
