Full Description
Site of an enclosure / banks. The OS Name Book (1865) notes the supposed remains of a 'Picts Camp', comprising four almost oval-shaped hollows surrounded by an embankment of earth, At that time they had been damaged by agricultural improvements. From their size were supposed to be the remains of dwellings, although annotated as mounds on the OS 2nd edition map. OS site visit 1964 found no trace of hut circles or mounds. At NJ 6845 4489 there was the mutilated remains of a small circular enclosure formed by a slight turf bank. All features now ploughed out and no trace remains.
