Full Description

Site of a cist which was found about 1895 among trees circa 103 yards(circa 94m) west of the house of Pittodrie Home Farm. There was no evidence of a cairn. Two short-necked beakers were found within the cist. ,The cover stones were replaced and the cist re-covered once it had been emptied. No remains of a burial. OS site visit 1973 recorded that the description of the site roughly fitted a low broad ridge at NJ 6964 2402 in a plantation but there was no trace and at that time no local knowledge of the cist.
