Full Description

A trial trenching evaluation was carried out over this site by AOC in September 2010 in advance of proposed housing development. The archaeological evaluation comprised a 7 percent trenching sample. Generally, the site was archaeologically sterile, with neither modern features such as field drains nor earlier features being identified. However, a single pit, with a piece of worked flint was identified in the central southern area of the field. The pit was fully excavated, and in addition a 10 m by 10 m box was excavated around the pit in an attempt to identify any associated features.
