Full Description
Pits recorded during a watching brief and excavation carried out by Network Archaeology in 2016 during groundworks for construction of a high pressure gas pipeline between Old Rayne and Jericho (NJ62NE0167). A total of six features were excavated. The most easterly pit was circular, 0.54m in diameter, and produced an undated copper pin shaft and five sherds of prehistoric pottery. A pit circa 20m to the west contained 65 fragments of early Neolithic pottery as well as fragments of charcoal. The westernmost pit also contained sherds of early Neolithic pottery.

Two samples radiocarbon dated - SUERC-76134-5,the two results circ 250 years apart.
